Operation has been launched into 47 people consisting of Zaman daily's former columnists and managers within scope of the probe launched as to the July 15 coup attempt. Şahin Alpay has been detained.
Teams with Anti-Terror Bureau Directorate carry out search in addresses of the figures on whom detention order has been issued.
Zaman daily columnist, Şahin Alpay has been detained within scope of the probe. Police made search in Alpay’s house in the early morning hours.
“I will not make any statement. I committed no crime. I don’t know why I’m being detained, I will find out”, said detained Alpay upon the question of journalists as he was taken out of his house.
Trustee was appointed in March
Upon the demand of İstanbul 6th Criminal Judicatory of Peace on March 4, 2016, trustee was appointed to Feza Gazetecilik that incorporates Zaman daily as well.
Names of the 47 people detained are as follows, according to Hürriyet daily’s report:
Osman Nuri Öztürk, Ali Akbulut, Bülent Keneş, Mehmet Kamış, Hüseyin Döğme, Süleyman Sargın, Veysel Ayhan, Şeref Yılmaz, Mehmet Akif Afşar, Ahmet Metin Sekizkardeş, Alaattin Güner, Faruk Kardıç, Metin Tamer Gökçeoğlu, Faruk Akkan, Mümtazer Türköne, Şahin Alpay, Sevgi Akarçeşme, Ali Ünal, Mustafa Ünal, Zeki Önal, Hilmi Yavuz, Ahmet Turan Alkan, Lalezar Sarıibrahimoğlu, Ali Bulaç, Bülent Korucu, İhsan Duran Dağı, Nuriye Ural, Hamit Çiçek, Adil Gülçek, Hamit Bilici, Şenol Kahraman, Melih Kılıç, Nevzat Güner, Mehmet Özdemir, Fevzi Yazıcı, Sedat Yetişkin, Oktay Vızvız, Abdullah Katırcıoğlu, Behçet Akyar, Murat Avcıoğlu, Yüksel Durgut, Zafer Özsoy, Cuma Kaya, Hakan Taşdelen, Osman Nuri Arslan, Ömer Karakaş.
Detention warrant on 42 more journalists
Custody order had been issued earlier on 42 journalists again within scope of the coup probe. 16 people including Nazlı Ilıcak, Büşra Erdal and Bülent Mumay have been taken into custody. (NV/TK)
