The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has said in a written statement that it "silences" broadcasts against the Operation Peace Spring in northern Syria.
"We will not tolerate broadcasts that serve the purpose of terrorism, that might mislead our citizens with false and biased information," the RTÜK noted, adding that it takes necessary actions against those outlets.
Two journalists were detained yesterday for reporting the statements of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which Turkey's army is fighting against. Dozens of social media users were also detained over the posts they shared.
The RTÜK cooperates with other state institutions to stop broadcasts that are "foreign-based, divisive, destructive and supported by the terrorist organization," the statement said.
It also thanked to broadcast organizations that "contribute national unity."
