1 Person Killed in Police Operation

Shot with a gun during a police raid launched in Sarıyer, İstanbul this morning (Setpember 13), İbrahim Devrim Top (25) has lost his life.

In its statement concerning the incident, People’s Law Bureau has said they have been informed that “Landlords Hakan Yıldız and Sevgi Yıldız have been detained in a house raid in Küçük Armutlu Neihborhood, gunshots were heard from the same house and a body bag has been taken out of the house”.

State-run Anadolu Agency reported that a clash erupted in the house. According to the information İstanbul Security Directorate gave to AA, police were fired at in one of the four addresses where operation was launched against the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front (DHKP-C). Devrim Top lost his life when the police fired back.

The raid was launched on the allegation that a person named E.Y. sold drugs and was injured with firearms on May 9, 2018. (AS/TK)
