Co-Mayor of Sur district in the Kurdish-majority Diyarbakır province, Filiz Buluttekin, and two municipal council members from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) have been detained.
The police raided the politicians' homes in the morning as part of an investigation by Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

During the raid in Buluttekin's house, the police got Buluttekin, her spouse and 10-year-old child on the ground and hold guns to their heads, attorney Sertaç Buluttekin said on Twitter. "Police violence and unlawfulness have become the routine now," he said.
Numerous co-mayors from the HDP in the Kurdish-majority cities have been detained, remanded in custody and replaced with government-appointed trustees since the local elections on March 31. (TP/VK)
