The repeat elections have been held in three districts and one town, where the March 31 local elections were previously annulled by the ruling of the Supreme Election Council (YSK).
According to the unofficial results of the local election rerun held yesterday (June 2), in the districts of Keskin and Yusufeli in Kırıkkale and Artvin respectively, the candidate of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) have won the repeat local elections.
While the candidate of the Republican People's Party (CHP) has been elected the mayor in Honaz, Denizli, the candidate of the Democratic Left Party (DSP) has come first in Kesmetepe town in Besni, Adıyaman.
AKP has won in Keskin and Yusufeli
In the district of Keskin in Turkey's central Anatolian province of Kırıkkale, 6 thousand 396 voters cast votes at 24 ballot boxes. According to unofficial results, AKP's candidate Dede Yıldırım has been elected the mayor by receiving 2 thousand 426 votes. Necati Alsancak from the İYİ Party, who has come second in the election rerun, has received 2 thousand 162 votes.
In the March 31 local elections, the candidate of the İYİ Party won the local elections in Keskin by a margin of six votes with the AKP candidate. Upon the objection of the AKP to the YSK, the elections were annulled on the ground that restricted voters cast votes in the elections.
In the district of Yusufeli in Turkey's northeastern province of Artvin, 5 thousand 219 voters cast votes at 20 ballot boxes. According to unofficial results, AKP's candidate Eyüp Aytekin has won the elections by receiving 2 thousand 428 votes while CHP's Barış Demirci, who has come second in the election, has received 2 thousand 63 votes.

CHP has won in Honaz, DSP in Kesmetepe
In the district of Honaz in Turkey's Aegean province of Denizli, 21 thousand 810 voters went to 76 ballot boxes to cast their votes in repeat local elections. According to unofficial results, Yüksel Kepenek, the Nation Alliance's candidate from the CHP, has won the repeat elections. Kepenek also came first in the local elections on March 31.
Lastly, in the town of Kesmetepe in Besni in Turkey's eastern province of Adıyaman, one thousand 115 voters cast votes at 7 ballot boxes. According to unofficial results, DSP's mayoral candidate Ali Yılmaz has won the repeat elections. Yılmaz also came first in the local elections on March 31.
3 other rerun elections to be held
There are three other repeat elections to be held in three places: İstanbul Metropolitan Mayoral election rerun on June 23; mayoral election rerun in the town of Demirci, Gülağaç in Aksaray on July 21; and mayoral election rerun in the town of Suvarlı in Besni, Adıyaman on August 4. (TP/SD)
