Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Deputy Co-Chair in Charge of Ecology and İzmir MP Murat Çepni has organized a press conference in parliament about the forest fires that broke out in Dersim.
Stating that forest fires enable mining activities and that is why these fires were started, Çepni said that war and unearned income are arm-in-arm.
Expressing that the current constitution has placed required laws for forests to be protected and their fields to be extended and that measures need to be taken, Çepni said that constitutional crime was committed in Dersim.
Çepni stated that over 90 fires broke out in 33 cities between July 16-23 but some of the fires were overlooked by the media and government. (HA/TK)
