194 of 289 lawsuits brought about July 15 coup attempt have been concluded.
In total 2 thousand 381 defendants have been sentenced to prison in the lawsuits brought on charges of “being affiliated with the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization” and “participating in the coup attempt”.
1,624 defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment, as reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency.
734 of them were sentenced to aggravated lifetime imprisonment.
890 of them were sentenced to lifetime imprisonment.
757 defendants were sentenced to from 14 months to 20 years in prison.
A large number of defendants including many privates and some military officers were acquitted.
95 trials concerning the coup attempt continue. (AS/TK)
