There are eight Peace Academic members among the candidates for 27th Term parliamentary elections to be held on June 24.
Dismissed from Marmara University, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kaboğlu and Prof. Dr. Yüksel Taşkın have been nominated by the main opposition party Republican People’s Party (CHP).
Retired from the Faculty of Economics at Marmara University, Prof. Dr. Erol Katırcıoğlu, research fellow Nuray Türkmen Canlı, who was dismissed from Ankara University, Oya Yağcı, who quit academy after winning the legal struggle of reinstatement against Çorum Hitit University, research fellow Ferda Fahrioğlu Akın from Yıldız Technical University, dismissed from Kocaeli University Prof. Dr. Kuvvet Lordoğlu, dismissed from Mersin University Prof. Dr. Atilla Güney have been nominated by the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP).
İbrahim Kaboğlu was dismissed by statutory decree no. 686 dated February 7, 2017 while he was serving as the Head of the Department of Constitutional Law at Marmara University.
Yüksel Taşkın was dismissed by statutory decree no. 686 dated February 7, 2017 from the Faculty of Political Sciences at Marmara University.
Erol Katırcıoğlu was retired from the Faculty of Economics at Marmara University.
Nuray Türkmen Canlı was a research assistant in Faculty of Education Sciences at Ankara University. She was dismissed by a statutory decree dated February 7, 2017.
Oya Yağcı worked as a research assistant in academy after her career in theater. After she was discharged from Çorum Hitit University in September 2014, she was remitted following a legal struggle of 1.5 years. She resigned in January 2016. She works as freelance trainer, also writing for bianet.
Kuvvet Lordoğlu was dismissed from Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences by the statutory decree dated September 1, 2016. He is among the 18 dismissed academics who founded Kocaeli Solidarity Academy.
Ferda Fahrioğlu Akın was a research fellow in Department of International Relations at Yıldız Technical University. He was dismissed by the statutory decree dated February 7, 2017.
Atilla Güven was dismissed from Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Mersin University by a statutory decree dated April 29. (BK/TK)
