Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave a speech at AKP Headquarters yesterday (April 19), warned about “possibility of Kurdish voters growing away”.
As reported by Yücel Kayaoğlu from Türkiye newspaper, Erdoğan has explained the reason why he took the decision to hold snap election. Stating that “very important developments are taking place in the world and the new system must be implemented as soon as possible during this process”, Erdoğan said:
“In the public, a perception that Erdoğan can voted in the presidential election and some other party can be voted in the parliamentary election. This is very dangerous. We shouldn’t allow it. Warn the voters about the seal. We should especially be careful about the dark propaganda made on our Kurdish voters because a propaganda suggesting that the votes will go to the MHP (Nationalist Movement Party) will be carried out. We will not turn blind eye to Kurdish voters growing away from us just because we have formed an alliance”*. (ŞA/TK)
