President and Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan convened all MPs at the party’s headquarters.
AKP Spokesperson Mahir Ünal responded to journalists’ question about the case in which Rıza Sarraf has become a witness. “Some people have started to grow hope over some allegations put forward by a man who has been taken hostage”.
“We see this as an act”
“We see where some people place their hopes on. We won’t be a mere spectator to some people trying to corner Turkey politically and economically over a case under the influence of FETÖ (Fethullahist Terrorist Organization).
“I tell the ones inside [of Turkey] who are growing hope; don’t raise your hopes. This is a play we see as an act. We will not be the actors of it. We will not allow Turkey to be put on witness stand.
"[Rıza Sarraf] has been taken hostage and forced to make some statements. Are we going to seek justice over a statement of man who himself said that he had to do it to get out of prison?
"If we will speak over a hostage man, wouldn't it be treason against the truth itself?"
“Even if you get rid of Tayyip Erdoğan…”
“If they want to corner us over these people’s statement, they shall know that you cannot get rid of the nation even if you get rid of the AK Party, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
“Even if you get rid of the nation, you can’t get rid of Allah. Mr. President expressed that he will lodge a suit today. Mr. President will have a meeting with [US President Donald] Trump in the upcoming days”.
“Kılıçdaroğlu doesn’t share the documents with the press”
Concerning Republican People’s Party (CHP) Leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu’s statement about money transfers of Erdoğan family to the Isle of Man, AKP Spokesperson Ünal said:
“First of all, let us put it right. There are some allegations brought to agenda by main opposition party leader. There are also some documents he waved in the group meeting over these allegations.
“Even his party members don’t know what they are. They are not even shared with neither the press nor jurisdiction”. (PT/TK)
