President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has held a joint press conference with Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.
Responding to journalists’ questions, Erdoğan said what is necessary will be done in case Ankara Mayor Melih Gökçek, Bursa Mayor Recep Altepe and Balıkesir Mayor Ahmet Edip Uğur don’t resign.
“I didn’t say it would cost them dear”
* I didn’t say “It would cost them dear”. I said what needs to be done will be done.
* As of now, three of our mayors submitted their resignation. Now we have three more mayors. I believe they will submit their resignation as well as soon as possible.
“I believe they are in preparation of submitting their resignation”
* The respective people held the meetings. I believe they are at the moment in preparation of their resignation.
* I am reiterating that what needs to be done will be done because our authorized councils made their decision about it. (EKN/TK)
