Deutsche Welle reported that the application for German citizen and ETHA translator Meşale Tolu to be released from detention before her trial will also be examined.
9 German citizens are behind bars in Turkey
According to the statistics given by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 22 German citizens have been detained so far in the wake of July 15 coup attempt, and nine of them are still imprisoned.
Deniz Yücel, who was arrested on charge of "terror propaganda" and has been in jail since February, ETHA translator Meşale Tolu, who arrested on charges of "illegal organization propaganda" and "being a member of an illegal organization" and has been in jail since May, and rights advocate Peter Steudtner, who was first detained in Büyükada and then arrested, are all behind bars in Turkey.
