The Justice March launched by the Republican People’s Party (CHP) from Ankara to İstanbul is on its 16th day.
CHP Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu first stop was the grave of Gaffar Okkan, who was murdered in 2001 as he was the Diyarbakır Security Director.
“We are holding today’s statement for the press with the families of martyrs. Determination of Gaffar Okkan in fight against terrorism was appreciated not from Diyarbakır only but throughout Turkey. The whole Diyarbakır mourned when he was killed by the terrorists. A large number of people from Diyarbakır named their children after Gaffar Okkan was killed. We remember him with mercy and gratitude”.
The group started marching following Kılıçdaroğlu’s statement.
CHP Aydın MP Hüseyin Yıldız felt faint and was taken into a hospital. Yıldız’s state of health is fine. (NV/TK)
