Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Spokesperson Osman Baydemir has issued a press briefing in front of the European Court of Human Rights building in Strasbourg in France.
“Peace can be achieved only through justice. Freedom can be achieved only through justice. Law and democracy can only be protected through justice”.
The statement issued on behalf of the HDP made a call for an international campaign to be launched for the imprisoned HDP co-chairs and deputies to be released.
The statement also demanded that the HDP’s application for its imprisoned co-chairs to be released be taken into consideration and that the verdict concerning the lifting of parliamentary immunities be revoked.
HDP MPs Ertuğrul Kürkçü, Mithat Sancar and Feleknas Uca attended the briefing. The European Parliament MPs and local NGO representatives also attended the briefing for support. (FE/HK/TK)
