Germany has examined applications of Turkish army soldiers, who have sought asylum in Germany in the wake of July 15 coup attempt, and approved some of them.
Initial examinations concerning the applications of some Turkish citizens with diplomatic passport concluded, Deutsche Welle reported.
The ones whose applications were approved are the soldiers who were on duty in Germany as part of the NATO mission but were relieved of their duty in the wake of the coup attempt.
414 state officials and their families
Minister of Defense Fikri Işık had said in January that Germany had to turn down the asylum applications of Turkish military officers.
According to the report, 414 soldiers, diplomats, judges and high-ranking state officials applied for asylum to Germany in the wake of the coup attempt since May 2017. (AS/TK)
