Selin Sayek Böke has declared that she resigned from her duties of People’s Republican Party (CHP) Vice Chair in Charge of Economy and Party Spokesperson.
Announcing the resignation of social media account, Sayek Böke said “I don’t find it appropriate to be a part of this management understanding at this stage”.
“Acknowledging the illegitimate results of the referendum is unfair to the millions”
“At least 50% of Turkey stood against strongman regime on April 16 but this will was seized through unlawful means. What falls to the CHP is to not legitimize this illegitimacy and give a political struggle with the people to turn their will of democracy to the reality of Turkey.
“Acknowledging the illegitimate results of the referendum is unfair to the millions who manifested their will for democracy”.
“Necessary steps haven’t been taken”
“It must be a part of CHP’s duty to advocate and support legitimate democratic constitutional rights outside of the parliament in addition to the fight given at the parliament to keep democracy alive.
“The party hasn’t taken the necessary steps to fulfill this duty of it”. (ÇT/TK)
