A detention warrant has been issued again for Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MP Nursel Aydoğan. Being arrested on November 4, 2016, Aydoğan was released at the Diyarbakır 4th Heavy Penal Court on April 21, 2017.
In his interview to bianet, Aydoğan’s attorney Abdulkadir Güleç said that they will object to the decision and explained the process:
“Prosecutor of the 4th Heavy Penal Court objected to the decision. After the prosecutor took the decision to the 5th Heavy Penal Court, the court ordered arrest for Aydoğan on April 28.
“Now by the procedure, Aydoğan will stand trial again. Criminal Judgeship of Peace is in charge here.
“We have the right to appeal to the 6th Heavy Penal Court. We will exercise our right if the outcome doesn’t change”.
She was released on probation
In another case, Aydoğan was sentenced to 4 years, 8 months and 7 days in prison on charge of “Being a member of an illegal organization by committing crime on behalf of it though not being a member of a terror organization”. Antep Regional General Court had approved the sentence on March 23, 2017.
This ruling for Aydoğan was not executed. For the execution of ruling for MPs has to be announced in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
Aydoğan was being tried within the scope of another investigation on charge of “illegal organization membership”. She was released on probation on April 21.
