People’s Republican Party (CHP) Spokesperson and Vice Chair Selin Sayek Böke has said that “This referendum must be re-held. We won’t act as if there is a constitution, which doesn’t in fact exist. We will exercise all our democratic rights for sure. ‘All sorts of’ involves withdrawal as well from parliament”.
Some highlights from Böke’s speech are as follows:
The referendum held on April 16 is null and void. This is clearly an unsealed election. It was resorted to all kinds of fraud and cheating through every stage of the referendum.
This referendum is not even questionable or dubious but it is clearly contradictive to the law. It is illegitimate and invalid. What has been stolen was people’s will. Our will has been seized.
We don’t and won’t recognize this referendum results. This referendum must be re-held. We won’t act as if there is a constitution, which doesn’t in fact exist. We will exercise all our democratic rights for sure. “All sorts of” involves withdrawal as well from parliament.
Turkey has been holding elections for many years. It is the first time that an election has become questionable on both domestic and international standards. No one has the right to make Turkey go through this.
The OSCE observers came upon Turkey’s invitation. If you tell them “Know your place”, it means to admit the guilt. (NV/TK)
