HDP Co-Chairs Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ, HDP Group Deputy Chair İdris Baluken and MPs Leyla Birlik, Selma Irmak, Nursel Aydoğan, Gülser Yıldırım, Ferhat Encü and Abdullah Zeydun were arrested after being detained on November 4, 2016.
HDP Hakkari MP Nihat Akdoğan was arrested on November 7, 2016.
On December 13, 2016, warrants were issued to take the following HDP MPs into custody by force: Osman Baydemir, Dirayet Taşdemir, Çağlar Demirel, Selma Irmak, Ahmet Yıldırım, Besime Konca, Alican Önlü and Nadir Yıldırım. They were [or are being] tried in the Kurdish Communities Union (KCK) main case at the Diyarbakır 2nd Heavy Penal Court. HDP Group Deputy Chair Çağlar Demirel and HDP MP Besime Konca were also arrested.
On January 4, 2017, Leyla Birlik was released.
On January 28, 2017, HDP Adana MP Meral Danış Beştaş was taken into custody. Danış-Beştaş was released on probation the same day.
On January 30, 2017, HDP Group Deputy Chair İdris Baluken was released.
On January 30, 2017, Danış-Beştaş was once again detained and was arrested later the same day.
On January 31, 2017, HDP Spokesperson Ayhan Bilgen was arrested.
On February 15, 2017, Ferhat Encü was released.
On February 17, 2017, Encü was arrested for a second time.
On February 21, 2017, HDP Co-Chair Yüksekdağ was relieved of her MP duties by the parliament. As a result, the number of HDP MPs has dropped from 59 to 58.
On February 21, 2017, HDP Diyarbakır MP İdris Baluken was arrested again in Ankara.
On February 21, 2017, HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş was sentenced to 5 months in prison on charge of "Insulting Turkish nation, Republic of Turkey and its institutions and bodies".
On February 27, 2017, HDP Urfa MP İbrahim Ayhan was detained at Urfa Airport. Ayhan was released following the prosecution questioning.
On March 6, 2017, HDP Dersim MP Alican Önlü was detained at Tunceli Courthouse where he was present to watch a trial.
On April 19, 2017, HDP Muş Burcu Çelik was arrested.
On May 1, 2017, HDP Urfa MP İbrahim Ayhan was detained. Ayhan was released after a few hours.
On May 2, 2017, an arrest warrant was issued again for HDP Diyarbakır MP Nursel Aydoğan.
On May 3, 2017, HDP Siirt MP Besime Konca was released on probation by Batman 3rd Heavy Penal Court.
On May 9, 2017, Batman 3rd Heavy Penal Court issued detention warrant for HDP Siirt MP Besime Konca.
On May 29, 2017, HDP Siirt MP Besime Konca was detained in Batman and arrested by the court he was brought to.
On May 30, 2017, a detention warrant was issued for HDP Spokesperson and party’s Urfa MP Osman Baydemir.
On June 2, 2017 HDP Urfa MP and Spokesperson Osman Baydemir was detained in Diyarbakır.
On June 9, 2017 arrested HDP Şırnak MP Ferhat Encü was sentenced to 3 years and 9 months in prison on charge of "propagandizing for a terrorist organization"and to 10 years in prison on charge of "opposing to the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442".
On June 13, 2017, HDP İstanbul MP and Group Deputy Chairperson Pervin Buldan who was taken into custody on June 12, 2017, was released.
On July 20, 2017, HDP Bitlis MP Mizgin Irgat was taken into custody in Tatvan and was released a few hours later.
On July 28, 2017, HDP Siirt MP Besime Konca was released considered the time she already served in prison.
On July 31, 2017, HDP Batman MP Ayşe Acar Başaran was taken into custody in Batman Airport as she wanted to travel to Ankara and was released the next day.
On August 2, 2017, HDP Van MP Lezgin Botan was taken into custody in Van Airport.
On September 5, 2017, HDP İzmir MP Ertuğrul Kürkçü was taken forcibly to Ankara 17th Heavy Criminal Court to testify.
On September 8, 2017, Diyarbakır 5th Heavy Criminal Court ruled that HDP Kars MP Ayhan Bilgen be released pending trial.
On September 14, HDP Diyarbakır MP Sibel Yiğitalp was taken into custody.
