The negotiations on the 2nd Article of the Constitutional Amendment Draft were completed and the article was passed with 343 affirmative and 133 no votes.
Second Article of the draft which requires an amendment of Article 75 of the Constitution raises the number of deputies from 550 to 600.
1st Article passed by Parliament yesterday
The Parliament had passed the first article of the Constitutional Amendment Draft which requires adding the word "unbiased" after the word "independent" to Article 9 of the Constitution, yesterday (January 10).
The voting on initiating the negotiations of the articles of the Constitutional Amendment Draft presented to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) had begun on January 9.
