5 More DBP Co-Mayors Arrested

Bitlis’ Hizan Co-Mayor İhsan Uğur, Mutki Co-Mayor Özcan Birlik, Yolalan Co-Mayor Felemez Aydın, Siirt’s Baykan Co-Mayor Selva Erdoğan and Veysel Karani Co-Mayor Enes Cengiz have been arrested.

Five more co-mayors from the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) were arrested yesterday.

The co-mayors who were in custody for a while and arrested by the court they were brought to yesterday are Bitlis’ Hizan Co-Mayor İhsan Uğur, Mutki Co-Mayor Özcan Birlik, Yolalan Co-Mayor Felemez Aydın, Siirt’s Baykan Co-Mayor Selva Erdoğan and Veysel Karani Co-Mayor Enes Cengiz.

69 co-mayors are in prison

As of December 21, 69 co-mayors from 45 DBP-governed municipalities are in prison.

46 trustees have been appointed to DBP-governed municipalities. DBP was elected in 106 province, district and town municipalities in 2014 Local Elections. (ÇT/TK)
