Siirt’s Baykan Co-Mayor Ali Aykan from the Democratic Regions Party’s (DBP) has been arrested. The number of arrested DBP mayors has risen to 64 with this arrest.
Baykan Co-Mayor Selva Erdoğan was arrested at his home and Veysel Karani Co-Mayor Enes Cengiz was arrested in the municipality building during an operation carried out against the municipalities on December 16.
64 mayors from 41 DBP-governed municipalities are imprisoned. (EA/TK)
