Trustee have been appointed to Diyarbakır’s Yenişehir and Kayapınar municipalities and Hakkari’s Çukurca municipality.
Three Co-Mayors of the districts Mehmet Selin Kurbanoğlu, Mehmet Ali Aydın and Servet Tunç from the Democratic Regions Party (DBP).
The number of trustee appointed DBP-governed municipalities has risen to 41.
The arrested co-mayors have been relieved of duty
Kurbaoğlu, Aydın and Tunç were arrested on charge of “being a member of a terror organization” on December 7.
State-run Anadolu Agency reported that the three figures have been relieved of duty by the Ministry of Interior.
Districts’ sub-Governors Mehmet Özel to Yenişehir Municipality, Mustafa Kılıç to Kayapınar Municipality and Mehmet Mut to Çukurca Municipality have been appointed as trustees. (BK/TK)
