From Edirne F-type Prison where he is kept under arrest, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-Chair and İstanbul Deputy Selahattin Demirtaş has asked the Parliamentary Speakership six questions.
Demirtaş has asked whether the Parliamentary Speakership would take any action regarding the arrests of the 10 HDP Deputies and further about their prison conditions.
Nine of the 12 HDP Deputies including the co-Chairs of the party were taken into custody in house raids carried out on November 4 and later arrested. Including HDP Hakkari Deputy Nihat Akdoğan's arrest, the number of the arrested HDP Deputies has risen to 10.
What had happened?
HDP Co-Chairs Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ, Şırnak MPs Ferhat Encü, Leyla Birlik, Hakkari MPs Selma Irmak, Abdullah Zaydan, Diyarbakır MPs İdris Baluken, Nursel Aydoğan, Ziya Pir, Ankara MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Mardin MP Gülser Yıldırım were taken into custody on November 4.

Figen Yüksekdağ, Selahattin Demirtaş, İdris Baluken, Leyla Birlik, Selma Irmak, Nursel Aydoğan, Gülser Yıldırım, Ferhat Encü and Abdullah Zeydan were also arrested on the same day.
Detained at Hakkari border, HDP MP Nihat Akdoğan was also arrested on November 7. The number of the HDP deputies arrested has risen to 10. (BK/DG)
