Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdağ has announced that “36,000 people have been arrested as part of the FETÖ (Fethullahist Terror Organization) investigation and 3,456 judges and prosecutors suspended from duty”.
There are warrants for 5,337 people, Bozdağ added.
Torture and ill treatment allegations
About the allegations of torture and ill treatment in prisons, Bozdağ said:
“FETÖ and separatist terror organization PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) are in collaboration. They have been running a serious campaign to isolate Turkey at the international area. Unfortunately, CHP (Republican People’s Party) and HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) from Turkey back it.
“I am being very clear, we in no way let torture and ill treatment in Turkey’s prisons”.
Bozdağ also shared the figure that 3,456 judges and prosecutors have been discharged so far. (AS/TK)
