Initial reactions to an operation launched against the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) have come from EP Rapporteur for Turkey Kati Piri and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policies Federica Mogherini.
European Parliament Rapporteur for Turkey Kati Piri posted "Very bad news from Turkey" on her Twitter account.
"Very bad news from Turkey. Again. Now HDP members of parliament are being detained", Piri twitted.
Mogherini: I am extremely worried
High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini on her Twitter account said, "I am extremely worried for arrest of HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş other HDP MPs. We are in contact with authorities and met with EU ambassadors in Ankara". (YY/TK)
