In response to Iraq’s Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi’s statement that “Turkey’s soldiers should not think they are having a picnic”, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said “Soldiers don’t have picnic, they carry out their duty”.
PM Yıldırım had said yesterday (October 6) that “Turkish presence will continue to remain there no matter what Iraqi government tells”.
Remarking that Iraq’s statements were “provocative and dangerous”, Yıldırım said that Turkish troops have been there for a long time and they are there to bring peace to the region.
