President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has declared that a democracy watch will be held with the participation of political party leaders, artists and sportspeople in Yenikapı on August 7.
President Erdoğan answering the questions on ATV/A Haber joint program, told the number of detained is 18,699 and of arrestee is 10,137 within scope of the investigation launched into Fethullah Gülen Community.
Erdoğan also announced the death toll of civilians as 237.
Erdoğan spoke as to the democracy watch as follows:

“We have such a proposal; I say ‘Let us handle this democracy watch on the upcoming Sunday (August 7) in Yenikapı in a different way’. Let us crown it and hold it there. Let us be together with all our command echelon of Armed Forces, mehter, and all artists and sportspeople who have contributed to this process.
“May all the nation be there together. Let us also invite all leader staff of our political parties, be together with them there and deliver our message to whole Turkey from there. Accelerating the normalization process is extremely important for our country”. (ÇT/TK)
