Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has delivered statement following the Council of Ministers meeting as to the coup attempt.
According to Yıldırım’s statements, in total 232 police, soldiers, civilians combined have lost their lives in the coup attempt. 316 of the detained have been arrested, 2,756 jurisdiction officers suspended from duty, as many as 1,500 public officers suspended, Yıldırım stated.

Here are some remarks from Yıldırım’s statement:
“We have 208 martyrs. Of them, 60 are police, three are soldiers, 145 are civilian hero martyrs.
“We have 1,491 wounded.
“Of the coup attempters, 24 are seized dead, 50 are seized wounded, and the number of those facing
7,543 detained, 316 arrested
“The number of detentions is 7,543… This may change. For the moment, of them 100 are police, 6,308 are soldiers, 755 are judge-prosecutor, 650 are civilians.
“316 of the detained were arrested”.
Suspension order on 2,756 jurisdiction officers
“Membership of five was dropped by decision of the HSYK (Supreme Council of Judges and Prosecutors). Furthermore, suspension order was issued on 2,745 judges, prosecutors and jurisdiction officers serving at different ranks”.
Suspension on as many as 1,500 public officers
“Works have been started to discharge some public officers. Suspension order was issued on as many as 1,500 public officers. Lay off order was issued on 8,177 Minister of Interior staff”. (BK/TK)
