Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co Chair, Selahattin Demirtaş has made a call for the political party leaders following the attack, which claimed lives of 11 people seven of whom are police in Vezneciler district of İstanbul. “Let four of us gather and meet to stop the bloodshed”.
Demirtaş criticized President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s words that “This fight will continue until doomsday. There is no such thing as it will stop soon”.
Demirtaş’s speech in the opening of Yenişehir Municipality Service Building in Diyarbakır is as follows:
“The figure in [Presidential] Palace normalizes it. We refuse the understanding of ‘It will continue until doomsday’. Killing of the youngsters must be stopped immediately. If these killings will continue until doomsday, what is the purpose of your sitting in that seat? The war will not continue until doomsday, believe it. The Palaces will not remain until doomsday.
“I am calling the Prime Minister and the political parties here. Let four of us gather and meet to stop the bloodshed. Let us all resign if we cannot solve this problem within the time we set.
“In no way, any violence method has become a method that the HDP saw reasonable, and it will not become in future either. We are fine with tension, competition in the political field but I would like to express one more time that we don’t approve any means of violence”.(ÇT/TK)
