Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in his statement to state-run Anadolu Agency has explained outline of Justice and Development Party’s (AKP) foreign policies on Syria.
Goal of Syrian Support Group (SSG) which was held under the guidance of the US and Russia in Germany’s Munich on February and hosted ministers of foreign affairs of 17 countries including Turkey, is to find a solution by ensuring territorial integrity of Syria.
US Secretary of State, John Kerry in his statement yesterday (February 24) said in case temporary truce is not actualized in Syria, plan B might lead to division of the country.

“Kerry said YPG is not trustworthy”
Çavuşoğlu stated that John Kerry told him People’s Protection Units (YPG) is not trustworthy.
Çavuşoğlu pointing out to US’ discrepancy as to Democratic Union Party (PYD) said, “It is very wrong to rely on a terror organization in a fight against another terror organization”.
“The terror organization [PYD) has started to sell out the US too in the terrain. It has opened its office in Moscow”.
Çavuşoğlu noting Turkey’s stance hasn’t changed in terms of fight against Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Syria remarked, “We’ve advocated from the beginning that all sorts of land assaults and strategies in addition to aerial operation should be put into practice”.
Saudi planes are being awaited
In response to question on arrival of Saudi planes to İncirlik Base, Çavuşoğlu stated that equipment and staff have entered, and planes are expected to arrive soon. (HK/TK)
