It has been stated that a telephone conversation was made between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Arabia King Salman bin Abdülaziz el Suud.
Sputnik News citing Kremlin’s announcement has reported that Putin informed in King Salman as to ceasefire agreement reached by Russia and the US over Syria.
King Salman in the conversation said he welcomed the agreement, and that they are ready to work with Russia to put it into practice.
Kremlin’s press department conveyed that Moscow and Riyadh have come to an agreement on staying in touch as to the truce.
Putin met with Rouhani as well
Putin made a phone conversation with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani subsequent to the conversation with the King Salman. Syrian crisis and the truce planned to start this weekend have been addressed.
Putin and Rouhani also agreed on carrying out “decisive fight” against Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Al Nusra and other groups designated “terrorist” by the UN Security Council.
Support from Jordanian King
According to Kremlin’s statement, Jordanian King Abdullah too welcomed the consensus reached by the US and Russia, and expressed that it is ready to work with Russia to implement the truce.
Syrian regime announced yesterday
Syria in its statement yesterday announced that it agreed to cease its operations except for ISIS and Al Nusra within the frame of truce agreement reached by the US and Russia.
Furthermore, Assad regime issued a bylaw announcing general elections will be held on April 13 following announcing the date as February 27 for truce excluding organizations such as ISIS, Al Nusra. (HK/TK)
