Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has captured Tell Rifaat town in Syria.
UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) has stated that SDF forces have advanced despite Turkey’s shelling.
Kurds, Arabs, and Assyrians are included in SDF which consists of predominantly People’s Protection Units (YPG) forces.
Tell Rifaat is 24 kilometers away from Turkish border.
Azaz
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu regarding Azaz, the final settlement between Tell Rifaat and Turkey, has said they will not “let Azaz fall”.
Turkey has been shelling this area by howitzers for the past four days.
The US and EU have demanded that Turkey stop its attacks against YPG. The UN Security Council will convene today (February 16) upon Russia’s request and discuss Turkey’s shelling. (YY/TK)
