Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Spokesperson and Kars MP, Ayhan Bilgen has responded to journalists’ questions as to Turkey’s attacks against Democratic Union Party (PYD) in the press meeting held at the party’s İstanbul Provincial Building.
Bilgen has interpreted Turkey’s İncirlik Base being put into service for Saudi Arabia as “eclipse of reason”.
Bilgen as to government’s demand that People’s Protection Units (YPG) should stay away from Azaz airport remarked that what is in question is land of some other country and that it cannot be intervened as long as conditions such as humanitarian aid and consent of the country are not met.
“Alliance without informing Assembly and society”
Bilgen has spoken as to attacks of army of Turkey against YPG as follows:
“Unfortunately, we are face to face with eclipse of reason. It is an eclipse of reason to form an alliance without informing Assembly and society with a state like Saudi Arabia, which fights against reconstruction of Syria, going to polls and working on a new constitution, bringing these actors around table to propose political solution.
“Turkey cannot use its airspace due to the tension with Russia and that arbitrarily puts İncirlik into service of Saudi planes to overcome this problem”.
“Unacceptable approach”
“It is an unacceptable approach whether you interpret it as throwing Anatolian children in the fire for his presidential goal or define it as a dirty negotiation in relation to financing Turkey’s refugee based negotiation with the EU through Saudi Arabia”.
“What is in question is another country”
“Turkey has maintained an inexplicable stance. What is in question is another country. You cannot get involved in some other country against its will other than [providing] humanitarian aid” as to Turkey’s call on PYD to withdraw from Azaz.
“Here Turkey makes a choice. It defines everything as a threat against itself to hinder, delay Kurds establishing new law order and non-conflict environment in Syria with other peoples of Syria to not become neighbor with Kurds”. (BK/TK)
