President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was in Ecuador yesterday (January 4) on his third stop of Latin America tour.
He was protested by Ecuadorian youngsters inside and by women outside in conference entitled “Turkish Foreign Policy and Latin America” at National Higher Education Institute in Ecuadorian capital city of Quito.
Erdoğan’s personal security guards attacked Ecuadorian women chanting “Asesino Fuera/Murderer Out” in the conference room. The guards also tried to prevent Ecuadorian press members from taking pictures. Images related to the attack against women members of Ecuador Woman Movement for Change have been released in Ecuadorian media.
President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa has been drawing heavy criticisms in international area due to his anti-democratic practices.
Attacks of Justice and Development Party (AKP) against Kurdish peoples were protested inside and outside the building. Ecuadorian police intervened in the protesters outside.

Correa’s government party, Alianza Pais (Country Alliance) MP Diego Vintimilla too was battered by Erdoğan’s bodyguards.
“Turkish bodyguards hit me too as they were trying to stop the protesters”, said MP Vintimilla on his Twitter account. Ecuadorian National Assembly President, Gabriela Rivadeneira reacted against the attack as well. Rivadeneira on his Twitter posted, “We condemn attack of Turkish bodyguards against our deputy friend”. (HK/TK)
