Minister of Interior, Efkan Ala in response to question “Can the authority of HDP-headed municipalities be taken back from them?” said, “We take the authority back from those who don’t do their job properly and give it to state officials”.

He said the following in his speech at Day of Administrators in Ankara:

“While we say children shall receive better education, people participate everything, they receive better road and water services, why bury all these in ditches?

“Authority of governing belongs to the nation and it gives the authority to whomever it wants. Those who lose in elections try to come to power via ditches or parallel roads.

“It is unacceptable. Turkey’s democratic maturity will not allow it.

“We pave the way for those who do their job properly. We take authority back from those who make people pay the price instead of serving them and give it to state officials who will serve”. (EKN/TK)
