Justice and Development Party (AKP) MP from Diyarbakır, Galip Ensarioğlu, said “These may be actualized, and discussed but this is not the method”.
Ensarioğlu speaking on Habertürk live broadcast expressed that autonomy and self-government demands are discussable.
“These may be actualized, and discussed but this is not the method. We received 49.5% of votes, when we mention presidential system all hell breaks loose. The method to achieve it is not digging holes in streets”, said Ensarioğlu as to Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) demands for democratic autonomy and self-government.
Erdoğan is against it
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in his statement to journalists on plane returning from Russia on September 25, 2015 had interpreted self-government demands as parallel administration effort:
“One nation, one flag, one homeland, one state. One nation involves all ethnic elements in society. We say one flag because we have one national flag. We say one homeland. We cannot let an operation be launched on homeland of 780,000 kilometer square. We say one state. We cannot allow parallel state organizations. We don’t allow those who try to form parallel structures under cover of claiming ‘self-government’”.
Davutoğlu opposes too
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu briefly said as follows in his statement on September 10, 2015:
“This is not Syria, no one can just declare canton after their own heart. System of government and how it operates is clear in democratic law state”. (EKN/TK)
