Highlights From Turkey's General Elections

In 2015 general elections, balloting which includes 53,765,231 voters, 172,685 ballot boxes, 20 political parties and 165 independent candidates have running campaigns for began at 8 a.m.

Ballot papers were distributed

Reaching the ballot box

In Amasya province, 90-year-old Ahmet Uzun went to polls in a primary school on his wheel chair by the help of his relatives. The handicapped needed their companions again for this election since the problems hadn’t been solved for them. Photo Credit: Mümin Atlaş/AA

In Bingöl province, emergency health services carried Hüseyin Alakuştekin, a 93-year-old bedfast and visually handicapped to a primary school for voting. Alakuştekin voted with the help of his relative and was taken to his home with ambulance.
