An armed attack on Peoples’ Democratic Party’s (HDP) new general headquarters building in Ankara Çankaya took place.
No-one was injured or killed in the attack. Although police officials on duty at the police lodge in front of the building fired back, the assailants escaped by car.
HDP Mersin MP Ertuğrul Kürkçü shared the following on Facebook about the attack:
“There was an armed attack with pump rifles against Ankara HDP General Headquarters building around 4 am. Provocations will not deter us. We will continue to say ‘peace’.”
HDP Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder reported over Twitter that although the attack took place around 4 am, crime scene investigation teams only showed up at 10:16 am. (EKN/PU)
