In 2014, Justice and Development Party (AKP) marked the political party with most media coverage with 2,596,097 news stories. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan turned out in 2,052,748 different media pieces.
The tolls were based on a research conducted by Media Surveillance Center (MTM) after a thorough research and analysis on more than 4,000 newspapers, magazines and TV channels as well as more than 10,000 internet media websites.
AKP bacame news story over 2 million times
This year’s main highlights turned out as the resolution process, March 30 Elections, presidential elections, Corruption Probe, Soma and Ermenek workplace murders, operations where police arrested, discussions on electoral quotas and paid military drafting.

In 2014, CHP was covered on various platforms 1,831,052 times. MHP was ranked as third with 967,133 times.
Turkey’s Kurdish minority parties People’s Democratic Party (HDP) and Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) was covered 332,773 and 326,622 in different news pieces respectively.
Top 3 in politicians: Erdoğan, Kılıçdaroğlu, Davutoğlu
Then AKP Chairman and PM and now President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was covered in 2,052,748 news pieces.
Main opposition CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu remained 482,669 times. Other leaders with most coverage were listed Ahmet Davutoğlu, Abdullah Gül and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli.(BK/BM)
