Deputy Broadcasts Corruption Probe Hearing in Parliament

Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) will hold session on the investigation regarding former ministers Zafer Çağlayan, Egemen Bağış, Muammer Güler and Erdoğan Bayraktar, who were involved in the Corruption Probe case. The talks will not be broadcast from Meclis TV but can be watched from tbmm.gov.tr, via closed circuit broadcast. It is also possible to watch from the broadcast CHP deputy Melda Onur will make from ustream.

"If the government is accountable, it should continue"

“It is the first time that four ministers at once were involved in corruption investigation. This situation interests the public more than the budget talks. I expect Meclis TV to take initiative,” Onur told bianet.

"Meclis TV should take initiative"

“Prime Minister obviously wants no broadcast today. We will see who administers the parliament today, Prime Minister or Cemil Çiçek? I expect Meclis Tv to take initiative and start broadcasting.”

Onur will also broadcast the talks via ustream. “There might be a few cuts due to the length of the broadcast. Our purpose is to show also the ambiance,” she said.

After the December 17 investigations, the Supreme Court shall start ruling regarding Zafer Çağlayan, Egemen Bağış, Muammer Güler ve Erdoğan Bayraktar who resigned due to claims of corruption and briber. A total of 5 investigation motions were submitted, four to CHP and one to AKP. The talks were postponed one and a half month due to local elections and inadequate motions.
