Chief Public Prosecutor of Ankara carried out a search in 9 provinces and 15 addresses within the scope of Feb. 28 investigation and detention warrants were issued for 17 suspects including 11 retired and 6 active duty military officers.
According to news of ntvmsnbc, Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor made a statement about the operations in the scope of Feb. 28:
"Within the scope of ''Attempting to dissolve Government of Turkish Republic, or partially or entirely avoids its performance by using force or threat" crime (Turkish Criminal Code No. 5236, Article 312/1 which is known as Feb. 28 investigation by public), Ankara 11. High Criminal Court decreed to carry out a search. In accordance with this decree, a search is carried out in 15 different addresses on May 8, 2012 at 08:30 am (4 in Ankara, 3 in İstanbul, 2 in İzmir and 1 in Kars, Erzincan, Denizli, kocaeli, Balıkesir and Uşak) and detention warrants are issued for 17 suspects including 11 retired and 6 active duty military officers by Chief Public Prosecutor conducting the investigation."

Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç made statements regarding Feb. 28 operations:
"The investigation continues and if there's an indictment I wish it would become evident as soon as possible.
"If there'll be the dismissal of proceedings, it has to be concluded as soon as possible. I wish this as a legist and politician. The investigation should finish quickly if there'll be new detentions." (EKN)
