In an attack carried out against security forces in Nusaybin district of Mardin, one soldier and one police officer have lost their lives, nine security officers injured.
The operations within the curfew in effect since March 14 continue in Nusaybin. Due to an assault on security officers in Yenişehir neighbourhood, one soldier has lost his life and 10 security officers wounded. One police officer among the injured who have been taken to Nusaybin State hospital could not be rescued despite all efforts. Other nine injured officers one of whom has severe injures are still in treatment.
YPS (Civil Protection Units/Yekîneyên Parastina Sîvîl) has announced that as of May 25, they have withdrawn from Mardin’s Nusaybin district where the curfew has been in effect since March 14.
State-run Anadolu News Agency (Anadolu Ajansı) had earlier reported that 25 persons had surrendered yesterday (May 25) in Nusaybin where Turkish Armed Forces continued the operations. (NV/DG)
