The Justice Watch kept demanding freedom for Assist. Prof. Dr. Esra Mungan in front of Bakırköy Prison where she is kept imprisoned enters its third day.
Also solidarity visits have been paid to the Justice Watch for demanding freedom. Cumhuriyet daily’s Editor in Chief Can Dündar and its Ankara Representative Erdem Gül were among the visitors today (March 24).
Education and Science Workers’ Union (EĞİTİM-SEN) is also going to keep a watch in front of the Silivri Prison where Assist. Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Kaya and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kıvanç Ersoy are imprisoned.
The watch is being kept between 12 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Erdem Gül: “In today’s Turkey which is getting more anti-democratic and authoritarian, we need to re-expand the scope of freedom of thought. For this, we must support fellows in prison till the end”.
Can Dündar: “Thousand greetings for the Academics for Peace from the Journalists for Peace. Hopefully we, all citizens together will bring peace to this country”.
Mungan delivered to a smaller cell
Esra Mungan taken to a one-person cell in Bakırköy Prison on March 18, has been delivered to a smaller cell.
Meriç Eyüpoğlu, a lawyer of Mungan has noted in his message on Twitter that the academic has been taken to a smaller and filthier place without ventilation on the grounds that the sink had been leaking. (BK)
