Meetings with Families of the Disappeared

Parliamentarian Human Rights Investigating Sub-Commission is meeting with the families of the disappeared in various cities.

The sub-commission formed under the Parliamentarian Human Rights Investigating Commission established to examine "the violations of the right to life in the scope of terror and violence incidences" is meeting with the families of the disappeared in various cities.

The first stop of the commission was Dersim. They met with the relatives of the civilians who were murdered by security forces or as a result of armed conflicts.

"The Relatives Demand Peace"

Following the Dersim meetings, Member of the commission, Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Deputy Ertuğrul Kürkçü talked about his observations:

"The people who lost their lives are all poor workers. The families of the disappeared could not get any support from the government to be able to live on. They all demand the government to charge whoever is responsible. They all demand compensation. The most important thing is they all want peace"

The commission will continue to meet with the families of the disappeared in Siirt, Batman and Diyarbakır.

The commission is headed by Justice and Democracy Party  (AKP) Amasya deputy Naci Bostancı and Republican People's Part (CHP) Tunceli Deputy Hüseyin Aygün, AKP Adıyaman deputy  Metin Metiner and Diyarbakır deputy Oya Eronat and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Kayseri deputy Yusuf Halaçoğlu are among the commission members.
