The State Atomic Energy Corporation of Russia Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev has said that they are going to start the construction of Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant in April.
According to a report by Russia-based Sputnik news agency, Likhachev said, “The ‘first concrete is planned to be poured’ in the area in Akkuyu at the beginning of April”.
“We’ve obtained 90 of 101 licenses”
Stating that 101 licenses is needed to start the construction of the power plant, Likhachev expressed that they’ve obtained 90 of them.
“Limited work permit” was received through the end of October for Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant. 20-billion-dollar investment cost is foreseen for the power plant.
The nuclear power plant officials plan for the first unit to be put into use in 2023. (PT/TK)
