Ankara Governor Ercan Topaca has declared the target of the two people who were killed in TOKİ housings in Etmisegut district in capital city of Ankara yesterday (May 21). The target was the Justice and Development Party (AKP) Congress, according to the governor.
Governor Topaca said that the intel was obtained through trailing Ebu Hüseyin Celilov of Azeri origin:
“These two terrorists were reached by having trailed Ebu Hüseyin Celilov of Azeri origin, who was captured in İstanbul. The sketches found manifest that a big attack in Ankara was being planned. Some sketches related to some NGO events and the AKP Congress were found. They might have planned simultaneous attacks”.
The governor also stated that they couldn’t be identified since their fingerprints were not registered.
What happened?
During an operation launched by the police units in Ankara, two people who were allegedly (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) ISIS members and preparing for an attack, were killed.
In the statement issued following the operation, Governor Topaca had said:
“It is not yet very clear of who they are. There are some weapons, our officers told me that there were some grenades. They are two men estimated at the age of 25-30.” (HK/TK)
