Şırnak Governorship has announced that a soldier, who was wounded during an operation launched against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), has lost his life.
It has been stated in the governorship’s statement that the soldier was wounded as a result of an improvised explosive device exploding during “Operation Gendarmerie Sergeant Major Ufuk Fesli” commenced yesterday (April 23) at Soru Tepe region in Turkey’s southeastern province of Şırnak.
Declaring that the wounded soldier lost his life in Şırnak State Hospital where he was taken to for treatment, the governorship expressed that the operation continues in the region.
Rank, assignment and name of the soldier hasn’t been made public yet. (AS/TK)
