Injured during the operation launched in Afrin, Syria, 23-year-old Burak Tatar has lost his life. Tatar was a paramedic medical staff at Erzurum Health Provincial Directorate National Medical Rescue Team.
An improvised explosive device planted on a road exploded as a military vehicle drove by at around 5:25 p.m. in Afrin yesterday (March 31). Paramedic Burak Tatar heading to Afrin in the vehicle lost his life. Three soldiers were wounded in the explosion.
Tatar’s body will be interred in Güzelova village following his funeral to be held in Narmanlı Mosque in Erzurum today.
President and Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and artists were at Oğulpınar Border Post. Artists sang songs with soldiers. Chief of General Staff Hulusi Akar was also at the dinner.
According to the statement of the TAF, since January 20, 2018, when the "Operation Olive Branch" was launched with the support of the Free Syrian Army (FSA), 51 soldiers have lost their lives. One sergeant major lost his life on March 29 after this statement.
