Five soldiers lost their lives, in the armed clashes between the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) yesterday (February 8) in Operation Euphrates Shield carried out in Al-Bab region of Syria.
TSK in its statement yesterday morning had announced that two soldiers had lost their lives. Another announcement was made in the afternoon hours that two more soldiers had lost their lives. In the evening hours another injured soldier lost his live. The death toll rose to five.

It has been reported that Sergeant Major Mahmut Uslu who had a meal together with Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım on new year's day and Master Sergeant Yahya Efiloğlu were among the five who lost their lives in Al-Bab. Sergeant Major Selim Topal who also had attended the meal with PM Yıldırım had lost his life on January 20 in Al-Bab.
61 soldiers killed
Operation Euphrates Shield carried out by the Turkish Armed Forces together the Free Syrian Army (FSA) had been launched on August 24, 2016. The operation into Al-Bab had begun in December 9, 2016.
61 soldiers from Turkey have lost their lives in the operation so far. (ÇT/DG)
